The baches began as a response to the longing for our special places.

They immortalise feelings of home and holiday, summer and rest.

They connect us across distance and time, to these anchors in our memory.

Whether yours is a first home, a family bach or other significant place, I look forward to capturing a portrait of your treasured home in ink.

How does it work?

Let me briefly explain what you can expect;

Initial Sketch. You send me source images and an address for street view reference.

I produce a rough initial pencil sketch. This sketch maps out the proportions and is important, as photos and streetview can skew angles.

I'll email you an image to check over–to see that it captures the feel of the place–along with a contract and invoice.

Pre-Print Drawing. Once 1st payment is received, I will translate this into a black and white pre-print drawing. This is a fair indication of the final piece and provides greater detail of foliage etc. I'll email you early on so you can see the progress and make small revisions. I'll email again at completion.

Carving. After the balance is received the image is reversed, carved and test printed.

Printing. I complete a print run of the required quantity. These are dried, signed and packaged.

Prints are then posted or ready for pickup.

I retain ownership of copyright of all preparatory drawings and the final print.

How long does it take?

It's safe to say 2 months plus. It depends on the complexity of the image and other pieces I'm currently working on.

I'm cannot always accept commissions due to other works or commitments.

Cost?

There are two options to consider.

Option A, a Personal Limited Edition Print.

We work together through the commission process; you own all the copies,

This is ideal for highly personal prints where multiple parties would like a copy and the personal nature of the print would make it unsalable to the general public.

I retain ownership of copyright.

Approximately 270 x 370mm image on 350 x 450 paper

Black and white $600 first copy, $150 subsequent copies.

Colour $1000 first copy, $200 subsequent copies.

Option B, a Limited Edition of 10.

We work together through the commission process and you own one copy of the edition.

The remaining copies are available to the general public to purchase through shops or my website. I retain ownership of copyright.

Black and white $350 first copy, $150 subsequent copies.

Colour $500 first copy, $200 subsequent copies.
